I think that if DC proposed a new Aquaman design along these lines and told the writers to give him a manner of speaking similar to Theodore Roosevelt, they’d have no trouble drumming up new readers for the character.
Every issue involves him engaging in gentlemanly fisticuffs with piranha and discussing the merits of classic old-timey mens’ hair products with the other members of the Justice League.
